Cafe 1515

The purpose of this project was to create a lighting plan for a 1500 square foot coffee shop. Gensler designed the coffee shop by balancing natural and artificial lighting throughout the space, this will create proper lighting for a customer to conduct tasks and relax. Four large floor to ceiling windows are used to provide an airy feeling to the space. Pendant lights are used as a focal point upon entry located above the front counter. Recessed lighting is incorporated to make sure the coffee shop has a  sufficient amount of lighting for the customers. Gensler first drew up the plans in Revit. By doing so she was able to be able to see the output of the lights for during the day and the night. Once there was sufficient lighting, Gensler began making a 3D model to show the client. Providing a 3D model with additional computer renderings, the client can visually see the space and know exactly what it will turn out to be.
