Linc Lab

Fall 2020

The Linc Lab is one of the computer labs on the Stephen F. Austin campus. The computer lab previously had old solid wood cubicles placed on dated blue carpet flooring. We designed the lab to be more inviting to the students while still giving them the computer and study spaces they needed. The new design includes HON Empower tables. These tables have a wiring trough that hide the computer cords. We had to work with the physical plant and the electricians on campus to make sure that the wiring was placed correctly for the tables to get power from the ground. This was possible due to the floating floor that already existed in the area. People prefer more comfortable seating while studying. We included three right handed EKO pods, as well as one left handed pod for students to have larger, more comfortable spaces to use. Also included is an ADA station, with adjustable height tables to provide ADA accommodations.
